NOP Tools to Crack eTransactions

April 3 2002

Creating online awareness, generating click-throughs, and building Net sales often go wrong as users leave their metaphorical web purchases at the 'counter'. Improving this situation is the aim of NOP World's new 'RelevantView' software system launched last week.

NOP Research Group is busy introducing the approach to enhance visitors' ability to buy or transact business on the Internet. In theory, the new proprietary interface will 'automate the creation, launching and reporting of web-based usability tests.' In practice, it will reduce the time frame for marketers to run an online survey, interpret it and improve the user-experience.

As most of us now realise, the ability to understand online behaviour is a critical marketing tool for e-commerce success. According to the latest NOP Internet Profile Survey almost a third of Internet users have abandoned a shopping basket online, and one in ten did so in the last four weeks.

'NOP World RelevantView is leading- edge web usability software. Usability tools until now have been either qualitative and limited to small sample sizes or, if quantitative, often had restrictions, like special browser downloading, that biased the sample group,' according to Mike Cooke, NOP Development Director. 'With NOP World RelevantView, companies can identify problem areas of a web site and understand what needs to be changed to improve the customer experience.'

He continues, 'It's incredibly valuable for a company to benchmark their site vs. the competition or a gold standard. With NOP World RelevantView, companies are able to compare similar tasks on their site vs. other sites, or, if they prefer, simply to gather ongoing behavioural information on competitive sites in a real world environment.'
