GfK Group Seminar in Edinburgh

June 5 2002

In recognition of the recent addition of Martin Hamblin to the GfK Ad Hoc Research Group, the parent network will be hosting a two-day conference in the summer. This will be held at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland, on 1-2 July.

Designed to allow clients from leading blue-chip organisations to get together, GfK will be staging a series of research programmes for the assembled executives. Consequently, a number of papers will be co-presented by GfK executives and client-side organisations.

Among the presentations, delegates will hear how the superbrand DANONE actions the results of a 26 country worldwide survey. They will also hear which research tools underpin the brand management of BMW and how Motorola develops the right products for the global mobile phone market.

Karen Wise, joint managing director of the Consumer and Business Division at Martin Hamblin GfK, originally came up with the idea to hold this event. She explained, 'Since I have become more familiar with the world-wide capabilities of GfK Ad Hoc Research, I have been very impressed by the expertise we have within the Group. This conference is about sharing that expertise with client companies and providing a forum where clients can also discuss experiences and add their own insights.'

She added, 'The emphasis in all the case studies is on demonstrating how research made a difference and how we made that vital leap from information to action, recognising that research is only as good as the decision-making it empowers. I hope this event will provide understanding of that process and create a lot of debate about current research practice and its contribution to business success.'

Invitations for the conference are available to all non-agency researchers by contacting the marketing department of Martin Hamblin GfK. (marketing@martinhamblin-gfk.co.uk)
