World Cup Snapshots

June 20 2002

With the atmosphere hotting up in the World Cup Finals, latest topline findings from Skopos SnapShots show that 54% of UK respondents agree with Roy Keane's being sent home.

The brand-new SKOPOS SnapShots online-omnibus service has also uncovered some more surprising opinions from football fans (and those not so keen) around our isles.

These include the following:

  • 54% believe that Mick McCarthy was right to send Roy Keane home (who are the others? Roy's granny must have voted 4,000 times - Ed).
  • 29.8% think they will have a better image of Korea and Japan as a result of the World Cup this year.
  • 19.5% say they will probably slack off from work a bit during the World Cup, whilst almost 60% 'intend to keep working as hard as ever'.
  • Of those following the World Cup, 69% will be watching on TV, 33.8% will be listening on the radio and 6.1% will be making use of SMS updates - some all three!
  • On other footballing matters, 62.3% say that Carlton and Granada should pay the debts left by ITV Digital.

SKOPOS SnapShots is based on a sample from the SKOPOS EuroPanel of over 10,000 Internet users from across the UK. Clients can place questions on this regular survey by contacting Nick Armstrong on 0208 747 4506 or Darren Noyce on 0208 747 4591.
