New Appointments at AMI

Asia Market Intelligence (AMI), which rebrands as Synovate in January 2003, announced a series of new executive appointments.

Peter Snell, formerly CEO North Asia, has been named Chairman Asia Pacific. He will oversee future mergers and acquisitions as well as source new business opportunities in the region. Mr. Snell was a founding partner of AMI and is based in Japan.

Tim Balbirnie, formerly Director AMI Group, is appointed CEO Asia Pacific. He takes up overall management responsibility for all functions in Asia Pacific. Mr. Balbirnie has 13 years' experience in the region and will continue to be based in Hong Kong.

Jonathan Jephcott is named Media Research Director based in Australia. He will be responsible for broadening the company's position within media research across the region whilst being involved in the development of AMI's online research capabilities, most specifically in the area of panel design, development and management.

Mr. Jephcott has more than 25 years' experience in media research with in-depth knowledge of the design and management of TV ratings services across the world. Prior to joining AMI, Mr. Jephcott was with Media Metrix in two concurrent positions - Vice President and Director of Research for the Pacific Rim and Managing Director of the UK company.

Miranda Cheung is named Director Asia Pacific, specifically responsible for sales, business development and client servicing across the region. Ms. Cheung was formerly Executive Director for AMI Hong Kong.

Jonathan Tilbury has joined AMI Healthcare as Project Manager. Mr. Tilbury will be responsible for client servicing and project management. Reporting to Head of Healthcare Scott Davies, he will be based in the company's Hong Kong headquarters until the end of the year before moving to Shanghai. Before coming to Asia, Mr. Tilbury was Regional Project Manager of Strategic Marketing Europe in London.

John Siena moves to London to take up the post of CFO and Group Services Director for Aegis Research in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Mr. Siena was previously CFO of AMI.

Finally, Alicia Kan is appointed Global Communications Director for Aegis Research reporting directly to Worldwide CEO Adrian Chedore. As the former Group Marketing Director of AMI, Ms. Kan looked after all marketing requirements for Asia Pacific. In her new role, she will oversee the same function worldwide.
