Telecoms Marketing Conference

October 9 2002

The themes of uncertainty, opportunities and the need to gain maximum advantage are central to the forthcoming 4th ESOMAR Telecommunications conference to be held from 20-22 October in Oslo, Norway.

This event will provide a unique forum for presenting and exchanging ideas about marketing issues affecting the telecom industry. Market analysis and overviews, attracting new and existing customers cost-effectively, developing and marketing new applications and the future outlook are main sessions that will present a variety of papers from USA, South Africa, UK, Sweden, Czech Republic, Hungary, Netherlands, India and Norway.

'2002 has been another terrible year for the telecommunications industry, after 2001 and there is no relief yet in sight. However, there is some good news as markets which have come late to widespread fixed and mobile technology continue to build-out network capacity and add new services. In the developed world there are ways of optimising service design, improving the dialogue with customers and obtaining valuable incremental business' says Stephen Connell programme committee chair.

Martin Rytterager, Head of Marketing Department, Telenor Mobil (Norway) is the keynote speaker at the conference presenting 'Challenges and market research and analysis in rapidly changing markets'. Rytterager has gained wide experience in his professional career in the fields of Business Development, Change Management and Marketing, both in Norway and internationally.
