MORI Group Acquires Consultancy

October 10 2002

The MORI Group in the UK adds consultancy capability with the recently announced purchase of Market Dynamics. The acquisition reflects MORI's strategy of investing in high added-value research businesses in order to extend its service offering.

Market Dynamics is one of the country's fastest growing strategic consultancies and the acquisition enables MORI to offer international market analysis in addition to its market research services.

'Providing an added-value service to our clients has always been one of MORI's main aims,' explains Brian Gosschalk, MORI's chief executive. 'Market Dynamics' expertise in market forecasting, competitor analysis and acquisition evaluation brings an entirely new dimension to our service offering. Market Dynamics also brings a strong customer base, as well as impressive growth and high quality people.'

Established in 1996, Market Dynamics has doubled its growth in each of the past two years. Its clients include hp/Compaq, RAC and Royal Bank of Scotland. Managing director Jon Francis says 'We have a long history of working with MORI - they have a well-deserved reputation for their rigorous research and thought leadership across the business sectors. This partnership means our clients will benefit from MORI's research skills, while we can help MORI's blue-chip customer base explore new market opportunities.'

Market Dynamics' three directors - Francis, Andy Thwaites and Kieron Culligan - will continue to manage the business, while MORI directors Gosschalk and Peter Hutton join the new board. Culligan states: 'This brings a step-change in the history of Market Dynamics. We now have the base from which to grow into a major European strategic consultancy.'
