Reorganisation at Arbitron Media Services

February 18 2003

Arbitron has recently reorganized key components of its U.S. Media Services division to strengthen its customer service capabilities and to augment the quality and sophistication of its radio research practices.

Brad Feldhaus, director of Strategic Initiatives, Radio Stations Services, has been promoted to the new position of vice president of Radio Product Management and Client Services. Mr. Feldhaus will lead Arbitron's customer service initiatives and work with Arbitron's sales organization to build new constituencies for Arbitron services. Mr. Feldhaus will continue to work with the Radio Advisory Council and will also be a member of Arbitron's liaison team for the Media Ratings Council. Mr. Feldhaus will report to Owen Charlebois, president, U.S. Media Services.

Additionally, Dr. Ed Cohen, vice president of Domestic Radio Research, will now report to Owen Charlebois. Dr. Cohen will focus his efforts on providing U.S. Media Services with critical intellectual and technical leadership in areas such as response rates and research design. Dr. Cohen will also take over the leadership role for the Media Ratings Council liaison team for Arbitron's core domestic radio ratings business.

'U.S. Media Services is being strengthened through the talents of these two experienced executives,' said Owen Charlebois, president, U.S. Media Services for Arbitron. 'Mr. Feldhaus' background as a product manager as well as his knowledge of our services and customers make him uniquely qualified to take on his new responsibilities. Bringing Dr. Cohen aboard to focus his considerable research expertise exclusively on the needs of U.S. Media will help this organization continue to enhance the quality of our research services.'

Under the strategic reorganization, Mr. Feldhaus will oversee Arbitron's Customer Communication and Services Group, which provides subscribers with detailed analyses of sample quality and its impact on local market ratings results, as well as Diary Analysis and Communication Group, which examines how diary entries are credited for customers participating in diary reviews. These departments will both be combined with Client Services, which oversees the post-survey reviews of radio listening diaries by radio station customers.

The Methods Development and Evaluation Group, which evaluate the outcome of tests from new methodologies and research techniques, will continue to report to Dr. Cohen.

In addition, Linda Dupree has been appointed to the new position of senior vice president, Portable People Meter. In this new role, Ms. Dupree will devote her time solely to the development and marketing of non-ratings uses of the PPM technology. Ms. Dupree will report directly to Steve Morris, CEO and president of Arbitron.
