Award for Best Research Document for MORI Client

MORI's client UNITE has won the Tesco Award for best research document at the Property Advertising, Marketing and Design Awards (PAMADA) 2002. UNITE is the UK's leading provider of accommodation services for students and NHS key workers.

The award recognises the excellence of UNITE's Student Living Report 2002, an annual survey by MORI which provides an in-depth view of the lifestyles, opinions, attitudes and aspirations of students.

Caroline Callahan, Research Director at MORI comments: 'This annual study is one of the most comprehensive quantitative surveys of student life. It is an in-depth exploration of how students are meeting the challenges and opportunities of the higher education experience. We have undertaken this study each year for the last three years and have built up valuable trend data.'

Each year MORI interviews more than 1,000 full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students face-to-face at around 20 universities. The sample is representative of the student population across the UK and reflects views across old and new universities. At each chosen university a quota sample of students is selected, with quotas set by gender, subject of study, ethnicity, undergraduates/postgraduates and, for undergraduates, year of study.

The PAMADA awards are organised by the Chartered Surveyors' Company and supported by Estates Gazette. The judges said of the UNITE report: 'Much good and useful research is being done and generally well presented. The winners show how it's done.'
