New PR Research Service

December 9 2003

Xtreme Information and YouGov have recently launched Impact Check, a new rapid turnaround, quantified research service for organisations with PR issues.

Xtreme Information monitors the world's press and informs organisations whenever they or their competitors hit the news. Impact Check(tm) will now allow them to gauge the effect of that news on the consumer within hours. It will tell them who saw the story, what they thought about it and how their perceptions of that company, brand or individual have been affected.

Xtreme Information customers will be able to order an Impact Check(tm) survey on any news breaking about them or their competitors by simply clicking a button on their website. YouGov will interview a UK representative sample of 1,000 adults, testing their awareness of, and views on, those stories. Impact Check(tm) will deliver interim results within 7 hours and full results via email within 24 hours. The service promises speed and accuracy, the key elements of Xtreme's media monitoring solution, allowing organisations to respond to factors affecting their reputation quicker than ever before.

'The value of reputation as a corporate asset is growing and reputation management is the focus for most corporate communications professionals today. Xtreme has a long history of innovation and has always sought to deliver cutting edge monitoring solutions to the PR industry. I am extremely pleased to be partnering with YouGov to deliver yet another first to the media intelligence market. Xtreme Information was first to market with an electronic media monitoring service. YouGov are the UK's leading online pollster. The combined offering will, we believe, prove very compelling', said John Gordon, Xtreme Information chief executive.

'In three years, YouGov has established itself as Britain's fastest, most accurate and most widely reported polling company. As pioneers in our field, we are delighted to join forces with Xtreme Information, who are pioneers in theirs. Together, I believe we can provide a service that is second to none in an era when, as never before, time is money - and hard, reliable information is vital', added Peter Kellner, YouGov's chairman.
