Display Research Specialist Expands Again

DisplaySearch, a research and consulting firm specialising in the market for flat panel displays (FPDs), has appointed Andrew Shulklapper as vice president of television market research. Shulklapper joins from Circuit City, where he led development and marketing for advanced technologies, and previously managed the launch of DirecTV.

The appointment reflects the rapid growth of the flat panel television marketplace and is the company's fourth key addition in the past two months (see www.mrweb.com/drno/news2802.htm ).

Shulklapper brings over 18 years of experience in merchandising, marketing, product development and retail operations. Over the past five years, he was responsible for Circuit City's multi-billion dollar television business, and combined expansion of their traditional television business with adoption of advanced technologies such as plasma, LCD, microdisplays and HDTV.

He previously spent five years at American Express' direct marketing division in merchandising and operations positions relating to personal and home office electronics.

Shulklapper's role in expanding DisplaySearch's TV MR offering will include tracking and forecasting of television market dynamics, and analysis of sell-in and sell-through activities for all television technologies. He will also build custom consulting services in the consumer electronics arena, and develop the company's television-related content at its numerous conferences across the globe.
