Barb MurphyUS bakery ingredients manufacturer Caravan Ingredients has appointed Barb Murphy as Director of Commercial Insights, in charge of commissioning all primary and proprietary market research.

Caravan Ingredients offers a portfolio of food ingredients, baking products, flour additives, and blending equipment. The firm is part of a network which operates 21 factories in the US, and has two production facilities in Canada.

Murphy (pictured) joins from coaching, innovation, and branding specialist The Brainzooming Group, where she served as a Strategic Contributor. Prior to this, she was SVP Market Planning & Development at research and consulting firm The Pert Group, and President of marcoms agency StrategicSpark. Earlier in her career, she spent 10 years as President of marketing agency Weyforth-Haas Marketing (now BKV), and served as Manager of Market Analysis at freight company Yellow Transportation.

In her new role, Murphy will lead research throughout the new product development process, in support of the company's innovation strategy.
