KPMG/Ipsos Retail Think Tank

December 21 2012

David McCorquodaleKPMG UK Head of Retail David McCorquodale has been appointed as a new member of the KPMG/Retail Think Tank (RTT), which meets quarterly to provide ‘thought leadership’ on matters affecting the retail industry.

Founded in 2006 by KPMG and Ipsos Retail Performance (formerly Synovate), the RTT aims to provide an unbiased view of what is happening in the retail sector and to develop commentary on areas influencing the future of retailing in the UK. The organisation issues two separate outputs each quarter – The Retail Health Index and a white paper examining key issues debated by the RTT.

McCorquodale (pictured), who has been with KPMG since 1984, leads the firm’s European retail transactions and restructuring practice. He joins the RTT following the departure of its co-founder Helen Dickinson, who left her role at KPMG last month, to join the British Retail Consortium as Director General.

Dr Tim Denison, Head of Retail Intelligence at Ipsos Retail Performance and co-founder of the RTT, comments: ‘These are challenging times for British retailing and there has never been a more important time in the short history of the KPMG-Ipsos Retail Think Tank to provide considered and authoritative commentary and thought leadership on the UK retail sector. I’m delighted that David has been appointed to the RTT, as his experience and knowledge will be a great asset.’

Denison also thanked Dickinson ‘for her vision, enthusiasm and hard work in making the RTT the respected body it is today’.
