Melanie ShrefflerIn the US, youth and family research specialist Smarty Pants has hired former Ypulse Editor-in-Chief Melanie Shreffler for its new role as Trends & Insights Guru.

Headquartered in Johnson City, TN, with offices in New York, Boston, San Diego, Chicago and Myrtle Beach, SC, Smarty Pants conducts research with kids, tweens, teens, parents and influencers to help guide brand positioning, product development and analysis of consumer lifestyle trends.

Shreffler (pictured) joins from young research agency Ypulse, where she provided readers with news, commentary, research, and strategy on youth marketing and culture. Earlier, she served as the Editor of EPM Communications’ ‘Research Alert’ and ‘Marketing to Emerging Majorities’ publications.

In her new role, Shreffler will manage the firm’s marketing, media, and communications, along with its social media presence, while also contributing to primary and secondary research projects.
