Beth BeldSocial media analytics specialist DataSift has appointed former Attensity marketer Beth Beld as Chief Marketing Officer in its San Francisco office.

From its offices in the US and UK, DataSift provides a platform through which companies can aggregate, filter and extract insights from the billions of public social conversations on Twitter, social media networks, and millions of other sources. Last year, the firm raised $15m in a second round of funding, which it is using to grow and develop its technology.

Nick Halstead, founder and CTO of DataSift, comments: ‘Beth has long understood the power of bringing together structured and unstructured data to drive better decisions and improve business performance. Her proven ability to define and drive leadership in new markets will firmly position DataSift as the leading platform powering the new big data economy and enable us to capitalize on the massive growth opportunity in social media data.’
