US retail analytics provider Prism Skylabs has appointed former Apple exec Cliff Crosbie as Senior Vice President of Managed Services.

San Francisco-based Prism Skylabs captures and analyzes images from existing video surveillance cameras, and uses them to provide information on customer patterns, trends and behavior taking place in retail environments. It can also show the path shoppers are taking in a store, and generate a heatmap of people in high or low traffic areas, down to the room or shelf level, for display on ‘any device’.

Crosbie (pictured) joins with a 30-year retail background. Most recently, he worked for Apple, where he oversaw the firm’s global preferred reseller program. Prior to this, he was Sales Manager for IKEA Japan, VP Global Retail and Customer Marketing at Nokia, Franchise Director at Nike, and he worked at Habitat as a Regional Controller.
