Chicago-based data analytics and predictive modeling specialist Gray Matter Analytics has appointed John Wirtz as Senior Director of its Financial Services practice.

Founded last year by Sheila Talton, Gray Matter Analytics provides a big data service to healthcare payers and providers, property and casualty insurers, banks, pharmaceutical companies, and data-rich financial services firms.

Wirtz (pictured) joins with more than twenty years’ experience in management consultancy, with fifteen spent working in financial services. Most recently, he was a Management Consultant at Abbott Laboratories and at Bank of America, prior to which, he was Director of Program Management at Sapient, and Program Manager at Cognizant Technology Solutions. Earlier, he spent more than a decade at Accenture.

In his new role, Wirtz will work directly with clients and partners, while overseeing and building the Financial Services practice team, with a focus on advanced analytics and big data.
