Wellington, New Zealand-based natural language processing and text analytics app developer Syl Resarch has appointed Andrew Hull as COO and CFO, as it plans overseas expansion.

Hull (pictured) brings a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (BCA) from Victoria University of Wellington and is a qualified Chartered Accountant who has worked at firms including the Bank of New Zealand, Goldman Sachs in London, UBS Wealth Management in Singapore, and Barclays Bank Asia from 2007 until last year.

Syl’s MD Sean Wilson says the hire is part of the company’s accelerated growth plan which will make it ‘a truly global company.’ He comments: ‘Andrew has a track record of helping global organisations gain significant competitive advantage by embracing and utilising innovative technology. Having proven our technology in the New Zealand market, Syl is now embarking on an accelerated growth plan to expand offshore. Andrew has the necessary experience and connections to help make the company’s aspirations a reality.’
