IMS Health has hired Mason Tenaglia for the new position of Vice President, Payer & Managed Care Insights at its IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics.

The Institute collaborates with external healthcare experts from across academia and the public and private sectors worldwide to apply IMS Health's proprietary global information and analytical assets. Tenaglia (pictured) joins as an authority on understanding the impact of the Affordable Care Act on the healthcare industry. He has spent the past decade at IMS Health's strategy and analytics consultancy The Amundsen Group, which focuses on commercial issues in the US pharma industry, and where he latterly served as VP, Managed Markets Services. Prior to this, he worked at global consulting firm Charles River Associates, and he was MD at Planning Technologies Group, Principal at ZS Associates, and a Consultant at McKinsey and Company.

In his new role, Tenaglia is responsible for advancing the IMS Institute's payer and managed care thought leadership, as well as engaging with key leaders in the healthcare industry, academia and government.
