In the UK, consumer trend forecasting firm Trajectory has appointed Iain Macmillan as an Associate.
London-based Trajectory was
launched in 2008 by former Opinion Leader MD
Paul Flatters, Future Foundation co-founder Michael Willmott, and former Henley Centre MD Chris Farmelo, to apply the full range of qual and quant methods to social analysis and forecasting. In 2010, the firm
acquired the GLIMPSES trends database from research, consultation and communication charity The Tomorrow Network.
Macmillan (pictured) joins with a twenty year background in the media and technology industry. Most recently, he ran his own digital business consultancy RMM, helping businesses employ new technologies, and designing and delivering multichannel services and projects. Earlier, he was an Associate at social media marketing agency Attention, Business Director at Tonic, European Account Director at Tribal DDB, and Sales & Marketing Manager at World Entertainment News Network.
In his new role, he focuses on three areas: digital business innovation, digital commercial strategy, and tech start-up growth. His work ranges from designing and delivering multi-channel services, to identifying new sales propositions and partnership opportunities, to managing the business road-map for start-ups.
