UK-based full service insights consultancy Simpson Carpenter has appointed Pedro Oliveira as Research Manager and Sophie Mason as Operations Executive, in its Qualitative team.

Oliveira (pictured) joins with a background in psychology and anthropology and a professional interest in urban life and cultural trends. He is relocating from Portugal, where he has worked in qual research for the past five years, most recently as an independent research consultant for tech multinationals and software providers. Prior to this he served as Research Manager at Lisbon-based research and design firm Couture (Decode & Disrupt), was Professor of Qualitative Methods at the IPAM Marketing School and the IADE School of Design, and worked in the UK as an NHS Psychologist.

In his new role, Oliveira will be involved with international projects, while working closely with the agency’s in-house anthropology and sociology resources.

Mason joins from Perspective Research where she has worked for the past four years, and most recently served as a Senior Field Controller.
