In India, newspaper and magazine circulation measurement body the Audience Bureau of Circulation (ABC) has elected Eenadu Group Director I Venkat as Chairman for the year 2016-2017. Venkat replaces IPG Mediabrands CEO Shashidhar Sinha, who has been in the role for the past year.

Venkat (pictured), who is also Chairman of the Media Research Users Council (MRUC), has worked for news and entertainment group Eenadu for nearly three decades, serving in a number of marketing and sales roles for the firm's print and TV brands in India and abroad. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), as well as on the Boards of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS), Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF), International News Media Association (INMA), and the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC).

Debabrata Mukherjee, who has been elected Deputy Chairman, has spent the last eighteen years at Coca Cola, currently serving as VP - Marketing and Commercial.
