Michael Della PennaIn New York, location intelligence firm Cuebiq has hired former Oracle exec Michael Della Penna for its newly created role of Executive Vice President of Growth and Strategic Partnerships.

Spun off as a separate company last year by mobile marketing company Beintoo, Cuebiq offers products designed for market research and financial services firms, to help businesses understand consumers’ offline behavior and purchase intent. The company recently secured a $3.5m round of Series A funding, led by Tribeca Angels and ARC Angel Fund.

Della Penna (pictured) joins with more than 25 years’ experience in the digital advertising industry. He previously served as Group VP, Oracle Marketing Cloud; and SVP Emerging Channels at B2C marketing software company Responsys (prior to its sale to Oracle). Earlier, Della Penna founded social media CRM firm Conversa Marketing, which was acquired by Selligent, and he served as Chief Marketing Officer at Epsilon, CMO at Bigfoot Interactive, VP of Strategic Development at CNET Networks, and VP, Marketing at ZDNet.

In his new role, Della Penna, who is also an early-stage investor in Cuebiq, will work closely with the company’s CEO, Antonio Tomarchio, who comments: ‘Michael’s deep experience in SaaS, marketing and data cloud solutions along with his proven track record of launching new products and channel sales strategies for leading public and private companies is a great asset to Cuebiq as we look to expand our footprint.’
