In the UK, social research organisation NatCen (The National Centre for Social Research) has promoted Gillian Prior to Director of Surveys, Data and Analysis, overseeing its Survey Research Centre, from 1st July. She also joins the leadership team.
Prior became Head of Health and Bio-Medical Surveys
two years ago when she rejoined NatCen after thirteen years at TNS-BMRB. In more than twenty years in the sector she has led, managed and delivered social surveys, including national studies such as Understanding Society, the Health Survey for England and the National Diet and Nutrition Survey.
CEO Guy Goodwin says of the news: 'I am excited about NatCen's future. We already conduct many of Britain's biggest and best quantitative surveys. I'm confident that Gillian will both enhance our reputation and diversify our portfolio to include a wider range of data sources'. Prior herself says she will aim to enhance NatCen's 'world class reputation for high quality surveys'; to champion the value of surveys and to make greater use of new data sources.
