US data collection and fieldwork services firm Opinions Ltd. has appointed Matt Becher as Sensory Manager.

The Chagrin Falls, Ohio-based company offers qual and quant, regional and national research using methodologies such as on-location interviewing, mall intercepts, central location tests and focus groups. Founded in 1998 by Mark Kikel, who previously served as VP of Operations at Pat Henry Market Research and as a Supervisor at National Market Measures (now MarketVision Research), Opinions Ltd. now employs a team of more than 500 including researchers, data collectors, analysts and programmers.

Becher (pictured) joins from The Boston Beer Company, where he served as Sensory Manager, managing sensory technologists at the firm's three sites. Before this, he was a lead Sensory Scientist for the Dr Snapple Group, determining the shelf-life for all products in the company portfolio of more than 60 brands, before which, he was a Food Scientist at Culinary Focus, managing sensory testing, along with the analysis and interpretation of the statistical results. He has an MS in Food Science and Technology from the University of Tennessee.

In his new role, Becher will use his knowledge to enhance the Opinions Ltd. sensory and product testing offerings.
