AI business technology company Sidetrade has appointed Clément Chastagnol as Head of Data Science, co-ordinating teams based in France and England.

Created by Sidetrade in 2013, the Data Science lab is staffed by engineers and data scientists who work continuously to develop its end-to-end customer relations platform. Chastagnol will oversee R&D in areas including machine learning, deep learning and NLP.

Chastagnol is a graduate of Ecole Centrale, Lyon and INSA Lyon, who has worked on Artificial Intelligence for B2B marketing for five years. He worked with Sidetrade on a project for EuroFirmo, creating a single authoritative dataset, accurate across 26 million EU companies - for which it won a Concours d'innovation 2018 award. In his new role he has two main objectives: to industrialize the use of Deep Learning to make algorithms more effective, and to extend the integration of NLP technologies to improve collection and analysis of text data from sources such as websites and social networks.
