Santa Barbara, California-based technology intelligence firm HG Insight has appointed Mark Richards as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Founded in 2010, HG provides intelligence on contracts, technology installation and IT spend for more than eleven million companies worldwide, covering more than 14,000 products. Earlier this month, the firm announced a 'significant growth investment' from equity firm Riverwood Capital.

Richards (pictured) joins from end-to-end process management and workflow automation specialist Nintex, where he served as CRO, leading the company's global sales organization internally and its partner ecosystem. Prior to this he was CEO of virtual event management services EventBuilder; worked for consumer software firm Symantec as VP Mid-Market, Inside Sales & Renewals; and was Senior Director Sales at Web Trends / NetIQ.
