Faster Horses

February 18 2021

Nicholas Mayne, Sashika Weerasinghe and Taylor MorrisAustralian insights consultancy Faster Horses has appointed recent graduates Nicholas Mayne, Sashika Weerasinghe and Taylor Morris as part of its strategy to expand its team 'from the ground up'.

Launched in 2014 by former Ipsos execs Peter Fairbrother and Veronica Mayne, Faster Horses has offices in Canberra, Perth and Sydney, and also reaches into Asia Pacific through a partnership with Malaysian outfit, Green Zebras. Faster Horses' founders say that their strategy to expand their team of professionals 'from the ground up', means teaching young researchers to analyse contextual information as well as research data, while offering a training program to pass on the experience of the senior team to new and developing consultants.

Mayne joins as a Marketing and Economics graduate in Perth; Weerasinghe joins in Canberra with a Bachelor of Arts, with majors in International Relations and Minors in Political Science and Philosophy; and Morris joins in Perth with majors in Finance and Marketing. Mayne comments: 'Our clients tell us that there is a distinct lack of ability in the market to translate data into commercial implications. It's not enough to simply report findings. Research must go the next step into advising clients specifically how to action the data. This is what turns data into insights, and researchers into consultants.'
