Digital-i

March 23 2021

Andy BrownIn the UK, SVOD viewing measurement and analysis specialist Digital-i has appointed former Kantar Media Global CEO Andy Brown as a Strategic Advisor.

Formed in 2003 to supply broadcasters and production companies with ratings and reporting solutions, Digital-i now focuses on the SVOD sector. The firm's Netflix measurement system covers Europe, the USA and Australia, and is able to report on episode, season and title-level viewing, broken down day-by-day. Last year, the firm expanded into Amazon Video measurement.

Brown (pictured) joins Digital-i after holding the Kantar Media Global CEO role since 2013. He began his research career as a trainee at AGB, and then moved to Anglia Television, followed by BMRB where his responsibilities included the international expansion of the consumer TGI survey into Europe and Latin America - an initiative which led to the formation of the KMR Group and his subsequent appointment as its CEO in 2001. Following WPP's acquisition of TNS in 2008, Brown formed the Board of Kantar Media and was named CEO; and he also served as part of the Kantar Operating Board and WPP Digital Advisory Group. More recently, he joined the Solutions Advisory Board of first-party data and insights platform Dynata.

At Digital-I, Brown will support the global expansion of the firm's SoDA behavioural streaming measurement and analytics platform, which gives competitor insight into streaming companies and their strategies. Ali Vahdati, founder and CEO, comments: 'The pandemic has accelerated the growth of SVOD and the decline of linear TV viewing, meaning it has never been more important to understand the audiences of the world's top SVOD platforms. With his years of international media measurement experience, Andy can help us accelerate the innovation and expansion of our services, so that opaque streaming ratings can become a thing of the past'.
