US-based marcoms group MDC Partners, which owns The Stagwell Group, owner of the Harris and Harris Poll brands, has appointed Michaela Pewarski as Vice President of Investor Relations.

New York-based MDC Partners uses technology, data analytics, insights and strategic consulting solutions, to deliver business growth and return on marketing investment for more than 1,700 clients worldwide. Its Stagwell holding company comprises a portfolio of marketing services companies which includes Harris Insights & Analytics; Nielsen's Mobile Insights Survey and Total Communications Survey, now known as HarrisX; and Nielsen's former entertainment research subsidiary NRG. The business is run by Mark Penn, and MDC Partners recently agreed to merge with Stagwell.

Pewarski (pictured) joins MDC Partners from artificial intelligence company Afiniti, where she served as Director of Investor Relations, FP&A, and Corporate Development. Before this, she worked at Macquarie Capital as a VP in the Equities Sales division, managing the bank's relationship with institutional investors in the New York and Mid-Atlantic regions; having begun her sell-side career in the Equity Research division of Credit Suisse.

In her new role, Pewarski will oversee all aspects of shareholder relations and drive an investor relations program focused on building and maintaining MDC Partners' relationships with buy-side investors and sell-side analysts. In addition, as MDC Partners pursues its business combination with The Stagwell Group, Pewarski will serve as a central resource for shareholders about the transaction's progress and its implication for the company's growth.
