Lauren PittengerIn the US, global consulting and research firm Abt Associates has appointed Lauren Pittenger as Vice President, Human Services Portfolio.

Headquartered in New York City, the firm offers a full range of research services for public opinion and public policy surveys as well as market research. From conducting US housing studies to evaluating COVID vaccine effectiveness, or incentivizing clean energy in Asia, the firm implements programs and leads major research in the US and more than 50 countries.

Pittenger (pictured) joins with more than twenty years' experience of working in and consulting for federal government agencies. She most recently served as a Director at global consulting firm Guidehouse, before which she was Scientific Program Manager at Booz Allen Hamilton, and Lab Manager at the US Department of Agriculture. In addition, she has worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Canadian Public Health Laboratory Network, the Gates Foundation, and the Association of Public Health Laboratories.

In her new role, Pittenger will focus on engagement across Abt's human services clients, including the Departments of Labor, Agriculture and Education; the Social Security Administration; and the Administration for Children and Families. Additionally, she will lead strategy and operations for the firm's 'human services' portfolio.
