Synovate Names New Censydiam CEO

In the UK, Synovate's consumer psychology research specialist Synovate Censydiam has promoted Sue Phillips to the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Sue PhillipsCensydiam, which was founded in 1987 to use psychodynamic mapping and techniques to provide an in-depth understanding of consumer motivations, was acquired by Synovate in 2003.

Most recently, Phillips worked in the UK as Director of Training & Development for Synovate's global Qualitative practice. She joined the firm in 2005 as Director Qualitative Asia Pacific in Singapore, prior to which she spent five years as Director Qualitative at Nielsen, and three years as Qualitative Director for Survey Research Singapore (now ACNielsen Research Singapore).

'Sue has been responsible for the training of our 700-strong community of qualitative researchers over the past few years, so taking on this CEO role for Censydiam is a natural leap forward,' commented Ged Parton, CEO of Synovate Capabilities. 'With over 25 years of experience in the research business, particularly in qualitative research, Sue is perfectly positioned to develop and drive our global consumer motivational research specialism.'

Phillips says her task will be to embed Censydiam's offer in the business at every level. She will remain on the Global Qualitative Leadership Team, while her other former responsibilities will be re-assigned to other Qual team members.
