Micronesia has no MR association and no locally-based research providers as far as we know. If you can tell us otherwise, pleaseThe FSM's economy is import based. Economic activity consists primarily of subsistence farming and fishing. The islands have few mineral deposits worth exploiting, except some high-grade phosphate. The potential for a tourist industry exists, but the remoteness of the location and lack of adequate facilities hinder development. Financial assistance from the US is the primary source of revenue and the Amended Compact of Free Association with the US guarantees the FSM millions of dollars in annual aid until 2023.
