David Day will become Global CEO of Kantar-owned online panel specialist Lightspeed Research, following the departure of Anne Hedde, who is leaving to pursue a different role with a competitor.
Day joined as European CEO in 2006, having previously been Director of Operations at AC Nielsen and MD for NetRatings, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Before this, he spent a number of years with the UK Government Statistical Service. He has an MBA from Imperial College.
Hedde will hand over her responsiblities during the next few weeks, and Day will remain in his current role as European CEO for an interim period.
In his new role, Day reports to Kantar Chairman and CEO Eric Salama who commented: 'I am delighted that we were able to promote from within and have David as the new CEO. He has built a successful, thriving European business since joining us and I have no doubt that he is the right leader for the worldwide business.'
Salama thanked Hedde for her work in building the company and her role in industry discussions around data quality issues, and wished her well in her new role.
