Nielsen Buys Korean Internet Analysis Firm

Nielsen has acquired KoreanClick, a web measurement company in South Korea, for an undisclosed sum.

John BurbankLaunched in 2000, KoreanClick uses proprietary technology to collect, measure and analyze Internet usage and attitude data including audience measurement, and for applications such as instant messaging, gaming and online multimedia. Its clients include Internet companies, advertisers and ad agencies.

Nielsen says the deal will expand its global measurement capabilities with coverage of the nearly 40 million Internet users in South Korea.

'KoreanClick is the standard for Internet measurement in South Korea, a country with one of the highest levels of technology adoption in the world,' states John Burbank, CEO of Nielsen's online division. 'We're excited to welcome them to our company and look forward to working together.'

KoreanClick's CEO and co-founder Dohyun Yoo says that becoming part of Nielsen is a necessary step in providing the online South Korean market with the 'highest quality of Internet measurement'.
