In the US, Ipsos has moved former OTX COO David Shanker to lead its specialist data and delivery division Ipsos Observer as Global President.

The appointment follows Ipsos’ acquisition of OTX (Online Testing Exchange) at the beginning of the year.

OTX’s RSX research and data collection team will now be integrated with the North America Ipsos Observer team, and be known as Ipsos Observer; while elsewhere in the world the service will continue to function under the Ipsos Observer banner, with Shanker as global leader.

For the past four years, Shanker was OTX’s COO and a member of the company’s Board of Directors. Prior to that, he spent 13 years in senior executive positions with Information Resources, Inc (IRI), most recently as President and Chief Customer Officer North America.

In his new role, Shanker will work out of Ipsos’ office in Parsippany and report to former IRI colleague Stewart Jones, who is now CEO of Ipsos Global Operations, and to Jim Smith, Chairman and CEO of Ipsos in North America. He will also serve on the company’s leadership team for North America.
