AudienceScience Opens in Tokyo

US-based behavioral targeting technology firm AudienceScience (formerly Revenue Science) has expanded in Asia with the opening of an office in Tokyo. Yoichi Tanaka joins the office as Sales Director to drive the adoption of the Audience Gateway targeting platform.

Denise ColellaThe firm, whose integrated data management and audience targeting platform tracks more than 386 million people worldwide each day, recently acquired German rival Wunderloop.

Its new office in Shibuya will be the operating center for expansion efforts in Asia, and follows the recruitment of former Yahoo! director Xiaoming Shao as Managing Director for Asia Pacific.

Tanaka joins with ten years' online sales experience. Most recently, he worked at Omniture, where he was responsible for selling optimization solutions. Prior to this he worked for DoubleClick Japan, where he sold online ad-service solutions and managed the direct sales team.

'Japan is very important for AudienceScience, where the market is truly embracing audience targeting as an important factor in online advertising,' states Chief Revenue Officer, Denise Colella. 'We are already working with a number of leading players in Japan and our base of operations in the Tokyo office along with the continuing recruitment efforts of experienced people is only the start of our efforts to best serve this region.'
