September 1 2010

In the UK, Discovery Group has reported a 28% increase in half year profit to £175k, and a 6.5% rise in turnover; taking the group's revenues to £1.46m in the first half of 2010.

Trish ParkerFounded in 1995 by husband and wife research team Trish and Ken Parker, Discovery comprises three businesses: full service agency Discovery Research; London and Leeds viewing facilities provider Spectrum; and The Thinking Shed, a qual tool designed to enhance and improve the online respondent-researcher experience.

For the full-year 2009, the group reported a 10% increase in revenues, and a 40% year-on-year rise in profits on turnover of £2.8m.

During the first six months of 2010, Discovery says it added 11 new clients to its roster, and continued to enhance the loyalty of existing clients - one third of which have worked with the firm for more than a decade.

Investment in The Thinking Shed has continued to be a priority, and a new version of the tool with multi-lingual capabilities and a range of other new functionality, is planned for launch in the autumn.

'2009 was a phenomenal year for Discovery, so we take huge pleasure in reporting another rise in both revenues and profits for the first six months of this year,' states MD Trish Parker.
