Kantar Media has promoted John McCarthy to the post of Head of Marketing Communications UK, promoting the firm’s customised media research, media monitoring and evaluation services to media agencies, media owners and brands.
Following WPP’s acquisition
of TNS in 2008, WPP’s insight arm Kantar re-branded
the media assets of TNS, KMR Group and BMRB Media as Kantar Media.
The division offers a full range of media insights and audience measurement services through its global business sectors - Audiences, Intelligence, TGI

are also part of the Kantar Media group.
McCarthy joined TNS Media Intelligence in 2003 after graduating from the University of the West of England. While at TNS, he held the roles of Marketing Communication Manager and Marketing & Internal Communications Manager - Media Intelligence. In 2008 he became Marketing Communications Manager at Kantar Media, responsible for leading global and UK marcoms for Kantar Media Audiences.
As part of the latest promotion, McCarthy also takes on the responsibilities of Global Marketing Communications Director for the Audiences Sector. This dual role will involve him working closely with Nadine Szyf-Beley, Global Communication and Marketing Director, Kantar Media to lead the company’s marketing and communications strategy in the UK.
