Foresee Files to Protect Clients from Patent Claims

June 9 2011

In the US, customer satisfaction measurement firm ForeSee Results has filed a 'proactive declaratory' lawsuit against patent licensing company Lodsys on behalf of several of its clients, who Lodsys claims are infringing its patents.

Foresee seeks restraining orderOnline customer experience software specialist ForeSee last year launched a solution to enable clients to understand the impact of their social media marketing on revenue, and the year before, introduced CS SessionReplay, which records what web site visitors are seeing and doing online in a real-time movie format.

In the firm's complaint filed in the Northern District of Illinois, ForeSee says that Lodsys sent threatening letters to its clients, including Adidas, Best Buy and WE Energies, claiming their use of ForeSee's online survey software infringes Lodsys' patents.

Denying the infringement, ForeSee is asking for a declaration that Lodsys' patent claims are invalid, as well as a restraining order to force Lodsys to stop 'disrupting its business and harassing its clients'.
