M3 USA Extends Physician Network via Doctors.Net

August 23 2011
Online physician community specialist M3 USA, the parent company of medical panel specialist MDLinx, has acquired UK-based medical professionals’ network Doctors.net.uk. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Aki Tomaru and Richard AdamsM3 USA, which is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based M3 Inc., operates physician communities in Japan, Korea, the USA and Germany.

Doctors.net.uk has a membership comprising more than 180,000 registered UK doctors and is used each week by more than 50,000 medical professionals. The network has partnerships with firms managing similar communities in France, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Australia.

This latest acquisition follows M3 USA’s purchase of London-based EMS Research last November, and Doctors.net.uk’s launch of the Networks in Health alliance of European doctor communities in May this year.

Aki Tomaru, CEO of M3 USA, says that the latest acquisition will enable his firm to extend its services to doctors and the healthcare sector in the UK.

Doctors.net.uk CEO Richard Adams (pictured) adds: ‘We believe that to best serve our members and our client interests, being part of a larger, multinational organisation will bring enormous advances and benefits. With a truly global footprint, M3 offers access to a compelling range of resources and this exciting move will enable us to enhance and introduce many new services and solutions.’
