Converseon Buy is Major Boost for 'Miner'

September 12 2011

Full service social media agency Converseon has acquired Social Graphiti, an analytics and marketing technology supplier focused on social media commerce; and will integrate it with social media analytics platform Conversation Miner.

Conversation Miner combines automated and human analysis to provide clients with a suite of customisable 'listening solutions' to help them map, monitor and react to social media conversations. Social Graphiti adds the ability for users to target and retarget consumers based on the sentiments they express online, and their areas of interest.

Social Graphiti founder Vidar Brekke joins Converseon as Chief Product Officer. Before Social Graphiti, he worked extensively on the development and execution of digital marketing programs for FORTUNE 500 companies including Coca-Cola, Clinique, AT&T, Verizon and JPMorgan.

Converseon CEO Rob Key says the acquisition will help his firm's technology to open up as-yet untapped potential from social media, and allow development of 'not just social commerce applications, but also applications for R&D, social business management, and more'. Specifically, the integration of Social Graphiti 'will help brands transition from monitoring social conversations to drive social transactions.'

Founded in 2001 and headquartered in New York, Converseon has offices in Detroit, San Francisco, Switzerland, Copenhagen and Australia, and is online at www.converseon.com .
