SoundOut Hires Former Nielsen Leader for US Push

Online music insight and analytics service SoundOut has appointed former Nielsen exec Rob Sisco as President for North America, responsible for establishing partnerships with radio networks and labels in the US and Canada.

Rob SiscoThe SoundOut platform, which is owned by London-based music industry financing firm Slicethepie, provides recording artists, record labels and radio stations with reports generated directly from millions of consumer reviews about new music releases.

In addition, its SoundOut Research service for radio researches every new release in the US and UK markets with thousands of online music scouts identifying those tracks with the strongest (and weakest) hit potential.

Back in July, SoundOut raised $2m, which it is using for product development and to build its client relationships across the UK and US.

Sisco joins after a ten-year career with Nielsen, where latterly he served as Chief Operating Officer of the firm's Entertainment division and President - Music. Earlier, he spent eight years at FairwestDirect as VP Marketing Services.
