Nielsen Wins Hong Kong TV Ratings Contract

The Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of Hong Kong (HK4As) has awarded Nielsen a five-year Television Audience Measurement (TAM) contract for the period 2013 to 2017, incorporating measurement across multiple platforms.

Nielsen tunes into Hong KongAs part of the initiative, Nielsen People Meters will be installed in a representative 800-household panel. The firm will also introduce the delivery of 'extended screen' measurement, to include Internet viewing of TV programmes within the TV ratings.

Ray Wong - who is Convenor of the awarding HK4As Committee, and CEO of HKPHD, says Nielsen has the expertise and tools needed to provide the industry with 'the best insights' now and in the future.

Oliver Rust, MD of Nielsen, Hong Kong, adds: 'Nielsen's extensive capabilities will help the Hong Kong media industry reach the next level by providing a comprehensive view of the consumer behaviors. This will benefit the entire industry, both from a broadcaster's and an advertiser's perspective.'
