US social media ad technology firm BLiNQ Media - which delivers Facebook ad results combined with real-time audience insight - has been acquired by publishing giant Gannett. While terms were not disclosed, reports claim the figure paid could have been around $92m.
Headquartered in NYC, BLiNQ provides campaign management and analytics via its Facebook ad platform BAM (BLiNQ Ad Management), and audience targeting insights through its LiFT tool (likes, interests and fan targets).
Gracia Martore, President and CEO at Gannett, says the acquisition enhances her firmís social marketing and analytics capabilities, and allows the company to offer in-house technology and expertise on social media ads to its local and national advertisers.
BLiNQ will continue to operate its core business as part of Gannett's portfolio of brands, providing technology and media solutions for social advertising and engagement to agencies and brands. Its HQ will remain in the TechSpace in New York City; its technology, finance and marketing groups in Atlanta; and sales and support offices in London, Chicago
, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Dave Williams (pictured), BLiNQ's founder and CEO, will now report to Vikram Sharma, President and CEO at Gannett Digital Marketing Services.
