Survey Monkey Signs for New Building

January 15 2013

DIY survey firm Survey Monkey has signed on as the anchor tenant for a new development in its home city of Palo Alto, California, as it looks for room to grow. The move is scheduled for early 2014.

Survey Monkey - left a deposit on new buildingThe company is already based in the city, as are around 70 percent of its 200 employees. According to www.paloaltoonline.com , the site is one of the legendary tech hub's 'newest and most ambitious developments', at the former Shell gas-station site on the corner of Alma Street and Lytton Avenue - and is seen as the city's 'gateway building'.

Survey Monkey, currently at 285 Hamilton Ave., plans to lease the top three floors and a rooftop deck at the new site. Spokeswoman Becky Cantieri said the site was 'the perfect opportunity' for the firm, adding: 'It's right across from the train station, and a significant number of our employees take the train.'

Last year the firm launched a DIY sampling service, a Brazilian office and an online Question Bank.

Claiming - rather cheekily we think, but then that's appropriate - to be 'the world's largest survey company', the firm is online at www.surveymonkey.com .
