Acxiom's Marketing and Data Revenues Rise

February 1 2013

Revenue from Acxiom's Marketing and Data Services division increased 4% to $160m in Q3 2012. Other divisions however fared less well, the group as a whole reporting a 3% drop to $273m.

Scott HoweAcxiom combines consumer data and analytics, databases, data integration and consulting solutions for personalized, multichannel marketing. The company also offers a suite of products which provide customer segment data based on lifestyle and intent to purchase profiles, as well as analytics and predictive modelling services.

Income from continuing operations increased 73% to $27m, but excluding unusual items it was down 13% (Q3 2011 $31m).

For the group as a whole, Marketing and Data Services revenue increased slightly to $190 million, compared with $187m for the same period a year ago, with a rise in the US offset by declines internationally.

CEO Scott Howe comments: 'Revenue from our top 100 US Marketing and Data Services customers was up more than 7% this quarter and up over 9% year-to-date. While we are pleased with this performance, we also recognize we have work to do in order to further expand our client base and reignite growth with our small and mid-tier customers.'

For the full fiscal year, Acxiom is anticipating revenue will be down approximately 2.5% as compared with $1.13bn in the prior year, resulting primarily from decreases in IT infrastructure management and international operations.
