BrainJuicer Expects 4% H1 Sales Increase

July 11 2013

Online specialist BrainJuicer is predicting a 4% increase in half year sales (vs H1 2012) and gross profit up approximately 6%, after what the firm describes as a 'difficult end' to 2012.

John KearonBrainJuicer announces its half year results on 20th September, and says it expects revenue to have grown 'strongly' in its two biggest markets, the UK and the US, as well as in one of its new markets, Brazil. However, according to today's pre-close trading statement, revenues for the six months to 30th June 2013 declined in both continental Europe and China.

Following measures taken by the management which included making 9% of the company's workforce redundant in the latter part of 2012, overheads in H1 were below those in the comparable period. For the year as a whole, BrainJuicer is projecting cost growth (before bonus payments) in low single digits.

At the end of June, the company held a cash balance of £5.5m, which it says is a 'substantial increase' on the end of December 2012 figure of £3.8m. The company has no debt, and its Board is considering whether to return some of its cash to shareholders.
