trueAnthem Raises $2.6m for Influencer Analysis

August 29 2013

Social media analytics company trueAnthem has raised $2.6m in private funding for use in extending its technology, which identifies and analyzes social media influence and helps clients track their viral content.

Chris HartLaunched in 2008 and based in San Francisco, the firm provides technology which tracks the viral spread of shared content across the web and mobile devices in real-time, and pinpoints social media influencers who not only share content, but also inspire their followers and friends to take action. Earlier this year, the firm was issued with a US patent for this technology, and it recently received a '2013 Great Mind Award' from the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF) for advances in measuring and generating insights from earned media - such as recommendations from friends and family through social media web sites.

The latest round of funding comes from venture capital firms CrunchFund and Core Ventures Group, as well as from several private investors.

Chris Hart (pictured), trueAnthem's CEO and founder, comments: 'We are thrilled to partner with investors that share our passion for social influence. This funding allows us to build on the tools we provide to brands, publishers and advertisers so they continue to get unparalleled insights into their viral content and key influencers - resulting in audience growth, increased engagement, and ultimately revenue.'
