ShopperTrak Brings in New EMEA CEO

September 24 2013

US-based in-store analytics firm ShopperTrak Corporation has appointed Bill McCarthy, previously CTO at the company's Chicago headquarters, as CEO of its EMEA operations. Current EMEA head Todd Starcevich returns to Chicago for the newly created role of head of the global mall division.

ShopperTrak provides retail store traffic counting, interior analytics and industry benchmarking to aid understanding of in-store shopper behavior. Helsinki-based RapidBlue Solutions Oy, which ShopperTrak acquired in June, is meanwhile being integrated into the European operation, with a team led by Gavin Weigh developing and providing technology for anonymous collection of data on shopper movement inside stores.

Since establishing its EMEA base at the end of 2011 and appointing Starcevich, ShopperTrak says it has built a team of 35 people across the region, with offices in the UK, Finland and Dubai, and growing operations in France and Germany. In total, it now monitors over 60,000 locations in over 90 countries worldwide.

McCarthy says he is delighted to be joining the EMEA team and comments: 'The physical store continues to be the world's most important shopping channel, and retailers are embracing new technologies that enable them to improve the customer experience and deliver better results... ShopperTrak can help retailers get the most out of their physical store assets as well as working with them as they expand globally.'

The firm, which also has offices in Shenzhen, Chinam has just over 200 employees and is online at www.shoppertrak.com .
