Phorm Begins Serving Ads in China

January 27 2014

In a trading update, ad targeting provider Phorm has announced the commercial launch of its operations in China, as well as an expansion of its services in Turkey with launches with another five ISPs.

Phorm's Kent ErtugrulPhorm also says its gross revenue for Q4 2013 was up 125% on the previous quarter, but as no amount is given and previous revenue figures have been dwarfed by the huge pile of cash the company has burnt through in six years of globe-trotting, the significance of this is not yet apparent.

The company began operations in China in October last year, and says it is now serving advertisements on a paid basis. In Turkey, it initially launched operations with major ISP TTNET in July 2012 - it now reports that another five ISPs have adopted the platform, and that it has worked with all of the top ten advertising agencies in Turkey running campaigns for over 300 local and global brands. On a global basis, Phorm says there are now over 20 million daily users on its platform, receiving more than 80 billion monthly advertising impressions from its publisher partners.

Continuing significant increases in revenues are expected, and Phorm's CEO Kent Ertugrul says it will provide further updates on a quarterly basis.
